Kevin Young is a loner, or at least he used to be. Part of him has always wanted to be bold like his vivacious mother was. That’s why when his cousin needs help with his sociology project, he agrees to take part in a semester-long dating experiment at their college, even though it means putting his secret at risk. His polling sheet comes back with a plethora of matches, the women having found his shyness both mysterious and sexy. There is only one problem: women aren’t really his type.
 
Clayton Finley’s bad-boy reputation precedes him. The notorious bachelor and small-town college star quarterback is known across campus for his superiority complex. But when an enigmatic stranger hands him a flyer for a dating experiment, he knows he’ll have to sign up. There is something about the rugged man that makes Clay yearn for and loathe him. Both are feelings that threaten to destroy the façade he has spent so long building.

Kev sees Clay’s arrogance as a challenge; the kind that requires constant nudging, even if it only happens behind closed doors. He is not sure why Clay is so vexed with him, at least that’s the way it seems sometimes, but he knows that his own feelings have become borderline obsessive. As the experiment goes on, Kev realizes that there may be something more important to him than keeping secrets. It’s time to stop playing games, something Clay does both on and off the field. Being brave will cost him everything, but he might just be worth it.
